I hope this means he's banned. I don't have much time nowadays to sift through the chaff to get to the wheat.

Anarchy / Name Your Religion!« on: February 18, 2005, 05:47:37 PM »
In college we called their 800 number to get the Bounce Back tape and then again to get Our Heavenly Father's Plan tape. My roomate used them to cut carts for his radio show. They asked if they could send over some missionaries, so I said sure. The first meeting was short and I said that I was reevaluating my spirituality and would like to find out more. So they gave me a free book of Mormon and scheduled another visit where they'd bring filmstrips to show me. I hadn't seen one of those filmstrip projectors since elementary school, but they had them. For the next visit, we decorated our living room with all sorts of Pushead posters from various albums such as Kings of Punk, Penis Landscape which came (heh heh, I said came, heh heh) with the Frankenchrist LP, and my roommate made a mix tape out of selections from my Slayer and Mercyful Fate LPs as well as some stuff he found at the station. So the two "Elders" show up in their short sleeve white button down shirts with their cute little nametags, the stereo is cranked up with the tape, posters are up around the living room and my roommate hadn't shaved in a few days and wandered in and out with a beer and a possessed look on his face.
I got to give it to them though, through all this they showed the filmstrip and gave me some more literature before they left. They were reluctant to schedule another meeting, so I told them that it was Okay and that I'd check out the budhists next. They left rather abruptly and we watched as they raced away on their mountain bikes. My story doesn't really do this justice, you really had to be there. 8

Either Young Frankenstein or History of the World Part 1. But Blazing Saddles, The Producers, and Space Balls are also great.

Anarchy / The Geekery Party (A prototype)« on: February 15, 2005, 04:39:19 PM »
I see several possible scenarios.
Scenario 1: We are all sitting there with our laptops, IRCing because we'd all be too uncomfortable to talk in meatspace Scenario 2: Yep, I'd polish off all the dip, because I'm usually the first one there and then I'd be hanging out with the hotties (you were spot on Judge). I'd hang out with Vespertine and Detta since I've already met both, and then I'd try to get some face time with Cat and Pseudo. I would definitely seek out Demo, needles, Lacerda, and Biz since I've known them forever and have always wanted to meet them in meatspace. Then I'd seek out those who have always amazed me, like TehJudge, Xolik, Nowledge, Avalanche, Dcrog, and Ivan. Then I'd talk with people like Law and Phyre, whom I've already met. Then I'd try to introduce myself to everyone else. Scenario 3: I'd be shy and withdrawn and only get to meet a handful of people, and then eventually leave disappointed. Scenario 4: I'd drink a little too much of the b00z3rz, and not even remember who I talked with or met, but it would probably make hilarious online fodder. Scenario 5: Here I guess I'll answer the first few questions Who's the DJ? Probably just one of our Ipods set to shuffle Who's eating all the dip? Me, Remeiro, and Heavy Jay Who are you yourself most likely to be found in conversation with? Vespertine, Detta, Demo, Ivan, BizB, or Needles Who's already drunk? Many of us Who is running around playing practical jokes on everyone? Sub-Par, until we catch him and give him an atomic wedgie with cheese followed by a swirlie. Which members are making out in the corner? Law and Beans Who's walking around with a camera, taking pictures for posterity (or their secret stash)? Judge, me, and Law 16

Seeing as how we're invading countries and the N Koreans have been dubbed part of the axis of evil, I don't blame them for developing such weapons. Also since we can use pre-emptive strikes, why shouldn't they be able to? Where is Rodney King when you need him?
