So, here's an interesting, if disturbing, time-travel paradox to fuck with your brains a little bit:
A man discovers time travel. While this, in the wonderful land of Hypotheticalsituationalia is not entirely uncommon, he chooses to use it to test what could be considered a legal paradox, and decides to go back in time to rape himself.
That's right... He rapes himself. Stop looking at me like that, hypothetical people can get seriously fucked up at times.
Anyhow, the man goes back in time, forces himself on his earlier self, and goes back to his own time. Here's where the interesting question comes in: Was this a convict-able rape, or just a really disturbing masturbatory act? On one hand, he did force himself on himself against his previous self's will. On the other hand, given that the 2 individuals are, barring a bit of temporal displacement, the same person, it could be viewed as the equivalent to a really disturbing rub-and-tug involving a severely conflicted individual, who was, indeed, a willing participant in his own "rape," thus nullifying the claim.
So... Is it rape, or not, and if it is rape, what should the punishment for it be?
Just a bit of a brain bender to get your brain working and trying to find the bleach to deal with the images generated....

Alrighty all, I'm not sure how many of you follow any of the console news, or anything coming out of E3, but i've got a good one. It's gold, or golden, depending on what your view of it is... Nintendo's next-generation console, until recently heralded as the "Revolution" has had a bit of a name change.
Stop me if you've already heard this, and if not, well, prepare to laugh.
Coming November of 2006, the Nintendo Wii (pronounced Wee).
My friends and I were making cracks at this all night, here are a few, and feel free to add your own...
Do not drag your Wii across the carpet, damage may result from such use.
Do not play with your Wii at work, as this kind of activity is generally seen as inappropriate.
Newsflash: Man found dead in basement after playing with his Wii for 3 weeks straight.

Big news, all. I'm finally meeting my biological father face to face next friday. He and I have been talking on the phone since october or so, but i finally get to see him, face to face. It's a big thing for me, it's like a big gap in my history is being filled in. anyone have any advice for me, possibly? he and I get along alright, but i need something to prevent those long, awkward silences, or to break them.

I can't remember if i posted this anywhere before, but I'm working on getting my CCNA certification, and the test's a real bitch and a half. i wasn't sure which forum to put this on, but does anyone know any quick, easy relaxation techniques that might keep me from flipping out (again... i've taken the test once already, and failed.... i blanked out, and then freaked out)? they shove you in this little brightly lit room with those aggravating flourescent(sp?) lights, and it drove me up the wall. anyone? Help would be much appreciated.

Sorry about the leave of absence all, and i appologise in advance for any misspellings, typos, or rambling, but i've got a bit of a situation.....
My ex-girlfriend (whom was the topic of a rather long thread.... and whom i've made amends with after almost 2 months) just broke up with her boyfriend, who is, well, just a little crazy. I need firewall protection, as heavy as i can get for free.... any suggestions? Anyone?

yea, the thread title tells all. i just broke up with my g/f of almost 2 years yesterday, and now i feel really, really depressed and sluggish. any advice on keeping myself from getting too deep into this depression?it feels as if i'm beginning to get bored with life. i now feel as if i'm free, but yearning once more for the cage, ya know? *sigh*

Found a relic from 1993.... an AT&T Jungle 3850, i think. It's an ancient laptop with a removable 250 MB HD and otherwise unknown specs. Dos is installed, but otherwise it's a blank slate.... anyone got anything as far as a really really small flavor of linux that has an actual GUI?

Well, this kinda sucks... My girlfriend takes care of a small colony of feral cats, one of which we've already had spayed, one of which has a litter of 4 that we've gotten ready to adopt out, and one that we foung out just last week was female, and pregnant. Can you guess what we found on the front porch?
A dead kitten.
right now, i'm sitting here with the survivor while my girlfriend gets some needed supplies to nurse this thing by hand. I've since buried the other, and get to keep an eye on this one next to me. If i had my PDA synched up over here, i'd post a pic, but i don't, so it'll have to wait.
Anyways, i know it's a long shot, but anyone interested in adopting one of the other litter can contact me via PM. They'll be ready to go thursday. We're in the greater ohio area, eastern suburbs of cleveland, so, anybody who really want's to get a well-socialized, well mannered long-haired kitten, PM me.

Well.... it's not a new Tower or notebook, but it's a lot of fun and a hell of a lot more portable. I went out yesterday and bought me a Sony Clie. Fun stuff. Yea, i know, it's only a PDA, but the built-in camera is a lot of fun. Perhaps i'll put up some of the low res pics i've been taking as time goes on.

I've got a question reguarding some math of forces and such. Here's the problem. I'm trying to quantify the forces at work with the following fighting robot weapon. I'll cut to the chase, and keep it theoretical, i don't have the exact numbers quite yet, but this'll give me an idea of the math involved.
Weight of moving object: 12.5 lbs
Speed of Weight: 10 fps
Time taken to impart all latent g-forces: .005 seconds
Anyone?
