Micro$haft has to make their stuff idiot proof, all the intellegent users who actually have a choice went out to get a linux box for work, and an XP pro machine for play...

After reading this, a quote comes to mind:

"If you idiot-proof something, someone will just make a better idiot."

How true...how true ind33d.  :)

and your quote reminds me of a quote....

"Genius has it's limitations, Stupidity is not thus handicapped."
along with....
"Stupidity is like Nuclear waste, extremely dangerous, and it'll be around for a long time."

*shrug*  Aol currently sucks, but back in the day, ya know, when only geeks had modems, it  was kinda cool.  it had all kinds of really neat stuff, and you weren't competing for mainframe attention (yes, for all you who didn't know AOL used, and still does use mainframe computers to switch calls) with a whole bunch of morons.

has anyone concidered telling these computer illiterate morons that pressing Alt-F4 will speed up their internet connection?  I know that's how we used to clear out the idiots on b.net whilst playing SC.... it was kinda funny, actually.

woohoo i'm glad we're the good guys  GO JOE

umm...... despite what is propogated on the television, the United States is not the "good guy" by any stretch of the imagination..... our television is just as propaganda saturaed as al jazeera was, until we knocked it out.  Anthrax does not an evil man make, and, yea, Sadaam's cousin did call for a chemical attack on the kurds in northern Iraq, but didn't we do that in Waco, Texas a few years back, when we gassed and then incinerated that religious group?  Think about it, our tampering in middle eastern affairs has not garnered much popularity for our country, in fact, any time we "help" one of their nations, it comes back to bite us in the ass.  Afghanistan (i know, it's an overplayed topic) is one such nation.  Back when we were fighting the soviets in the '80s, there was a group trying to overthrow the soviet oppression.  This was al Queida (or however you spell it), led by the one and only, guess who.... Osama bin Ladin!  We haralded him as such a great guy, we gave his men money, weapons, training, and you wanna know what he did in return?  he sunk a part of our navy, caused many deaths via the september 11, 2001 attacks, and has been a general pain in the ass since we put him into power.  When this is done and over, everything will be the same.  the middle east will be in turmoil, this unstable group of nations will control the world's oil supply, and we will still be seen as the world policeing assholes that need to jam their finger into every pie on the planet.  well, one thing might change..... that would be the amount of anti-american sentiment in the world skyrocketing......

I've been wondering what might happen if i made a thread completely devoted to threadjacking.would it be a paradox if someone threadjacked this thread, but the entire topic was meant to be jacked and taken to whatever ends it ended up at?  Think about it, would it really be threadjacking?

Demo, say what you will, but chances are that you, in all your comments, you couldn't hold a candle to my intellect.  I don't post on these forums to be serious.  I come here to kick back, unwind, and get whatever i need to get out, out.  Before i started posting, i gave a few really good reads of the threads, and to be quite honest, you were the only person that i found i don't like even before i started to post.  If i wanted to be absolutely serious all the time, i'd have joined a CNN message board, or just tried harder to get my school's debate team back up on it's feet.  i'm here to enjoy myself, and so what if i rarely post anything worth reading, except maybe for a laugh, if i didn't, i'd probably go nuts.  At this point, i'm studying for my CCNA, and to be honest, that's stressful enough, i just vent what i can of it  here to get it out of my system, so i don't snap from the stress, and so i can retain the IEEE 802.x standards, and a whole bunch of useless garbage that i will never need to know in the real world, like what each of the pins on an RJ-45 jack does, specifically.  Get me? Good.  Just back off, eventually i'll feed something of some mental substance, but that's a month or so away, but until then, lemmie vent.

but there's no reason to register if you're just gonna read the threads and not participate.  it's just a matter of clutter reduction, i guess.

idea!  why not make a post minimum for new users, say 3 posts within 48 hours of joining, or the account gets deleted.  It'll keep things from getting overcrowded in the member listings, at least.
