Some of the new writers may have a hard time knowing what does what when they login to the Coranto interface.

This interface will allow you to post articles almost anywhere on The Geekery. You still need to know some HTML in order to make tables and what not, as well as adding effects to text such as bold and an underline. I'm sure you all know how to do the basics. Afterall, these are The Geek Forums.

First thing's first. Posting news. In order to do so, login here using your username and password provided to you via your PM box. TheJudge should be getting those out to you within the next few hours. I also advise you to change your password using the "User Info" link on the main screen. Click on "Submit News". In order to submit sutff, you're going to need to know what Category to post it to:

(default) - Saves it to the server and does not actually go public.
blank** - Produces a page similar to this
Geek Guides* - Posts an article to the 'Geek Guides' section of the site
main - Goes on the main page of the site. Only two articles are currently displayed there at a time.
misc** - Produces a page similar to this
mods* - Posts an article to the Pointless Mods section
products* - Posts an article im the Idiot Products section
requests* - Post an article in the MP3 Request section
reviews* - Posts an article in the Reviews section

The above categories with a star (*) next to them must have the following field also entered along with a subject and a body: News Snipplet

The above categories with two stars (**) next to them must havr the following fields also entered along with a subject and a body: File Name

"Create phpBB Thread" should be checked when you post a normal article. This will create a thread in the forum for people to post comments on.

Also, uploading can be done by using the "Upload Manager" link at the bottom of the interface.

As usual, if anyone has any problems logging in, let me know here so I can get things sorted out for you.

I forgot to put in the following:

Geek Guides
Idiot Products
Kreative Korner
Rants
Reviews

The above sections should have the "News Snipplet" field filled out. The white text here is an example of where it goes.

I forget to do this a lot of times myself. Then again I forget a lot of things.

Wait a sec... I don't get it.  What do we need to put in that field?

Is there something that goes there in the rant I just posted?

 :?:

EDIT

Ah, scratch that... I just figured it out.  It's a summary that goes on the "rants" general page.  Gotcha.  :)

For now, I think the weekly poll will stay.

As for my directions... Oh, believe me, I know they can sometimes not be clear. You should hear me in real life. I suck at talking.

If I walked up to you and ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup only, would you screw that up? Cause that would prompt me to write a rant article. Oh wait... I already did.

EDIT: Maybe I'm missing something here but what's the point of having the MP3 list?

I wouldn't mess that up, I've been doing it for a while now.

The mp3 list? That's still there? I told that asshole last night to get rid of it... Hey wait a minute

I think next week I should do something recursive.

Like post an article in the Rants section ranting about having to post rants on a schedule.

I think it'd be funny.
