A Random Act of Kindness
« on: December 30, 2004, 09:04:37 PM »

So, how often is it that you are able to say that you're proud of the guy (or guys, or woman, etc.) who owns the company you work for.  In my experience it's not that often.  It happened for me today.  The owner of the company I work for donated $250,000 to one of the tsunami aid funds.  I gotta say that I am absolutely impressed by and proud of his benevolence.  It's not often that people "put their money where their mouth is", but he sure as hell did.

My boss gave 1,000  , he just bought his wife a jag so I'm sure he could have given more but it was a pretty decent move. No comparison to 250 Grand though, that's really awesome.

Our compay did that too, I think it was 3 days ago they said they'd donate $250,000 for the relief fund, and match anything us employees raised anywhere at any of our centres anywhere in the world up to $140,000. A strange number, but hey, at least they're also giving some on top of what they'll match for us!

My company is matching dollar for dollar with the employees to a minimum goal of 10,000. It is a small company, but have already raised 2,000 in one day
