well, some of you.... other's are just degenerates and subhumans.... however, the mods seem pretty quick to wield their spatulas of banning

Only on those who deserve it.  Forums go in cycles, friend.  When I used to moderate on Hackernetwork, there were times when I'd ban 30 or 40 accounts... in one day.

Other times I'd go weeks without banning anyone.  

Likewise, here I hardly ever ban anyone by comparison.  But when it rains it pours.
