There's always a bigger fish, it seems. It's only a matter of time before we discover a star that's a ligh year in size.

This is my favourite picture taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. From what I understand each one of the columns of hydrogen gas in the picture is more than a light year tall.

Here is the same picture from above, but with a more realistic color balance. The other one had different colors in order to "increase its scientific value".

+1 those pics are amazing. Space pictures seem to make me get lost in them and stare at them for an hour or so before i realize what I'm doing. Very interesting topic.
