Sounds like someone downloaded and ran a batch file.  Why would you run a batch file without looking at the code first?  That's like finding an unlabeled bottle of liquid on a park bench and guzzling it down without even sniffing it first, as Lacerda's analogy goes.

How would *I* fix it?  I'd probably manually run a bunch of ASSOC commands in a command shell to set my file associations back to the way they were.

I definitely wouldn't bug the person I got the batch file from in order to get another batch file that can fix it though.

However, there is a special deal when if, and only if, you give the person that you got the bacth file from 50 dollars, you will get a batch file in return that will put everything back.

Let this be a lesson to all the morrons who come over here seeking hacking advice and tools. As stated so many times by so many people here, that's not what we are about. The solution to your problem has been adressed in a few older post. Probably like 4 months ago or something like that. Look around. Use the search feature. Just don't come to us and cry like little babies.

Chris, you should really setup some stickies with the forum rules like it used to be.

I agree with Judge, Chris.  Besides, if people are going to come and cry, the least they can do is sound like adults about it.  "I r teh 1337 h4x0r, t3ll m3 h0w 2 cr4ck p4ssw0rds!"  <--Not adult.

No one read the rules anyway, what difference would it make? If you guys want to start up a thread where you make a set of rules and stuff, and we can all agree on it, I'll "Make it Law". The other rules didn't make much sense in the first place. A lot of the stuff I write doesn't make sense.

Rule 1:  We aren't for hacking.
Rule 2:  If you want hacking help, die.
Rule 3:  We don't sell cheese.

Feel free to add as you see fit... Rules can be changed in order, so if you want to move the cheese rule down =/
