Anyone having issues with the forum loading up slowly, or intermittently? Post any connectivity issues here, please.
-
It's working fine for me so far this morning.
-
I'm a bit slow and intermittent today. Maybe some coffee will help.
-
Yesterday it was slow to load and slow to respond opening threads.
Today it's just a little slow to load but once up works fine.
-
Fine today but yesterday for a while a little problem just like Socrates had.
-
No problems at all so far.
-
No problems here. I am on Fiber 25 Down 5 Up.

You have FIOS? Nice. I was told to go piss up a flagpole when I requested it for my place. Bastards!

Blasphemy! All intelligent life form should be rewarded FIOS simply for being .... well who we are. :-P

While we're talking about making this place better . .
I still have this issue where my connection to the server times out. It happens when I initially bring up the page, when I reload, or when I am just browsing around.
Using Firefox v3.5.10
Doesn't matter what introweb I'm using.
Even though I say 'time out', I don't think I'm leaving it open that long. For example, I opened a tab with the forums in it at the beginning of this post and it just timed out trying to reload.
I get a 'Server not found' from Firefox.
Not really a huge deal for me (a refresh after the timeout fixes it just fine), but just something to maybe look at. 8-)

What web address are you accessing these forums from as there are several redirects out there that I know I have.

geekforum.org is what I use.

A while back my host decided it was necessary to change name server IP addresses without really making much of an effort to contact anyone who was hosted under the same IP addresses. With that said, you may want to try flushing your DNS cache, though I doubt that it would still be effecting you for this long now after the switch.
Try the following command in a DOS prompt:
ipconfig /flushdns
-
ipconfig /flushdns
Yeah, let's say this worked. If I'm the only one, I don't mind refreshing every so often, just thought maybe there were more out there with the same problem.

Is anyone else having issues with going to the first unread post only to find it brought you some post from last year?
I just got done looking through two pages of a thread to find the new post and there wasn't even one!

Yess'm. I think Chris had to restore all or part of the database once or a few times recently. That's what I figured was the dealio anyway.

Haven't I read this already?

Actually, I hadn't yet read that other thread when I posted that thing I posted in this thread.
YET.

I bet you wouldn't have minded re-reading these posts if they were actual Homoerotic A-Team Fanfiction.
