Although I often (often, often, practically freakin' always) find him to be irritating, he does at lest try (at times) to be a good member.
If this were HN, I'd be all for banning the sucker, but on this kinder, gentler forum I am inclined to think banning him is a little too extreme.
Maybe just ban him from the Political Opinions board. :lol:

Imus should've been fired 20 years ago.
I'd say the same for Enovus, but he probably wasn't even born then.

Should Imus be fired because of ratings? Points of view? Or things he says? Who decides what's ok to say? I don't like him, either, and have never listened to his show more than five minutes at a time flipping through channels, but I do not think he should be fired for calling a basketcase team "nappy-headed hos". If his revenue drops; then yes, that is a valid reason to terminate his contract. But I'm so sick of hearing people crying "Offended!" every time someone (usually with $$$) says something.

Well I'd fire him if he worked for me and he failed to generate revenue. The fact is, if he pisses people off that translates into money in my pocket (assuming I'm his boss, and thus in a position to fire him).

This poll seems stacked against me.
Ivan, you've expressed more distaste for me lately than everyone else on the forum combined. Now in all honesty, 90% of the time its amusing, but I simply have to ask, would you like to get something off your chest? If so you should probably do it in a meaningless thread such as this. I'm all ears.

I think this thread has finally reached the point where ivan's taunting of Evonus has officially jumped the shark.
I'm not trying to defend the kid--he earns a lot of his volleys--but this is a little much.

Alright, how about letting the moderators worry about the banning? We've had a discussion this week about this topic, with different opinions. Evonus has been on the fence and obviously some people are annoyed with him. Demo was kind enough to send Evonus a warning pm and I'll give Evonus the benefit of the doubt that he'll be a little more carefull about his posts.
Altough he has been annoying, and made some inapropriate jokes, he has not really broken forum rules, other than the insults to other members which were sometimes in response to being picked on. He has been warned, and that's that. There are no more warnings heading his way. He's not a troll, he's not the best debator in the world, but he's entitled to his opinions and his logic flaws. If his logic boggles your mind and frustrates you, then don't converse with him. If you find him annoying as hell, then ignore him. Once in a while, he'll even make you lol if you give him the chance.
I'm personally fed up with the whole evonus gangbang. I recognised that he brought this on himself with past actions, but I think a lot fo you are now biaised. If he's willing to make an effort and actually contribute to this place, then I think we should all be positive and give him the chance to do so. So please, let's wipe the slate clean, drop the negative attitudes, and start fresh. In fact, I have a suggestion for evonus if this doesn't work out: If you like this place so much but find yourself to be unable to post anything without being attacked simplye because the name "evonus" is tied to the post, why don't you just take a break of this place for a while, and reregister under another name? The guy depicted in my sig, did just that. And guess what, he's still around today and everyone likes him now. Just an option for you to consider.
Again, I know a lot of you are frustrated with evonus, but please give him a fair chance to redeem himself and refrain from posting threads like this one, or picking on him just for the heck of it. It's not productive, and it's not what the geekery is about. Evonus, this is the last time I defend you. You have to earn respect if you want to stay here, and you can start by being respectful to others. In fact, that goes for everyone. Now, don't respond to this with reasons or excuses to explain certain posts you've made. I don't care. Just start fresh and let's all move on. KTKSBY!

I simply ask that we all start fresh and have a little objectivity. If he fucks up again, he's out. Have no doubts about that. Don't take my response personally, because it was directed at a lot of people, not soley at you specifically. Sorry you feel short changed here. It is not my intent.

Okay, judge I read your post, and I feel I can do that. I don't plan to leave and come back, I've seen it done many times. If I leave it'll be for good, but I'm not planning on that at the moment either. As of now I don't really have a vendetta against anyone on this forum, as I said, it's near impossible to offend me, so I'm not sitting her cursing Ivan under my breath for making this topic. I have no problem wiping the slate clean for anyone if they'll give me another chance, and we can forget the animosity. If someone doesn't wish to do that that's their choice. I don't really care if people make an occasional joke about me, nine out of ten times I simply laugh at them myself, but when it happens after every post I make its a whole nother issue. So okay? Can we all get back to normal again, at least most of the way?

Added by popular demand, there is now an ignore function installed and enabled on the forums!
To use this feature, go into your profile and select "ignore user options". The rest should be easy enough to figure out.

Hey Chris went to all the trouble to set this up someone really should go ahead and ignore Evonus.
If you click on someones profile it tell how many people are ignoring them.

In my humble opinion ignore functions are a bad thing. Evonus will be put on ignore by some of us, but when there is a nice discussion where he is involved they will turn it off just to see what is really going on.

I honestly don't see the point, I have never have. No one has forced anyone to read my posts from the beginning. Even with the ignore feature my posts are still there, they're just blocked out, but oh well.

Chris, can we get a tutorial on the ignore feature so I can see who is and isn't ignoring me?
I'm not sure if I want to give that information out to everyone. It may cause more tension when people realise all along so and so didn't get along with them, and they're now ignoring everything that they post.
Right now, just moderators can see who is ignoring them, or at least trying to. You can't ignore moderators and administrators, so it doesn't really matter if they can see who is ignoring them because it won't work.

I'll put this on the "To Do" list. I hate having multiple themes sometimes. It was THE WORST when there was about 8 different ones. Talk about a real pain in the ass.

We decided to bahn him, instead. That way, if nobody is around, he can use the autobahn. Or, if he's not in the mood to drive, he can use the Deutsche Bahn. If he's just tooling around town, he can use the S-Bahn.
