Villkommen.

Just a personal peeve, but I hate people who say "I'm only <age>, but don't hold that against me, because <reason>."  Age is age, it's a bad system to base any assumption on, but let people judge for themselves.  Now you just seem like a cocky 15 year old.

Still, I'm sure you'll justify your words in time.  Your shift key needs a little exercise and it looks like you're yet to discover the apostrophe, but you don't seem to think that "u" or "r" are words in their own right.  There's hope for you yet. =P

Xolik - "You can't send email? What's your user name?"
Hurr - "It's imanidiot."
Xolik - "Oh, I remember you. Remember when I told you that if you kept forwarding me crappy joke emails and multimeg video clips of youtube crap that I'd revoke your Exchange send ability?"
Hurr - "Yeah, I remember that, why?"
Xolik - "I wasn't joking." *click*

Score one for the good guys! +1

I'm actually on minimum wage at the minute (For my age band, £4.45 p/h) it should go up after the second review, if it didn't already after the first (They're kinda lax with payslips...)

The bit about notice from the handbook I liked was that if you give notice and they just want you to fuck off now, they still have to pay you for the hours you'd be 'expected to work' for your notice period.  I'm planning on this being a temporary fundraising gig, so I may well let standards slip before I tell them I've leaving just so they'll tell me not to come back =P

My name is Chris the Geek, and I was actually on the reality television show Beauty and the Geek.

Did it pay well?  I never worked out why anyone would want to humiliate themselves in that terrible excuse for a show. =/

Welcome to teh geekery.

I'm slaving away for Ronald at the moment... I see lots of strange things.

Not least of which are the assorted scum of Glasgow mumbling something about wanting food in my general direction.

Uh, I make two posts in a 8 page thread about abortion, religion and the soul and suddenly I want my own God (Capital 'G' by the way PB, fictional or not, it's a name ;)) thread?

EDIT: Ah, right.  Sorry Ves!

Hmm, when I clicked this topic I thought it said "God's Wii??", wasted quite some time trying to work out what this had to do with Nintendo =P

As for when life begins, it's pre-conception.  The egg is alive, the sperm are alive, they are both for a time able to function idapendanty from thier host bodies and though both have no means beyond conception to sustain thier lives, they are alive by most definitions of the word.  Still, I don't think simply being 'alive' should be the grounds for whether terminating that 'life' is murder or not - sentiance should.  At the start of a pregnancy, the fetus is no different, it's just made up of multiple cells, not one.

For that reason, I'd say that terminating a fetus before the brain forms and starts to receive and coordinate electrical signals isn't murder.

Of course the problem with religion and abortion is that murder isn't about whether or not the person is alive and sentiant, it's the potential for life and the assignment or creation of a 'soul', this creates all kinds of grey areas between religion and science.

Personaly, I guess I'd fall into the pro-choice band, way I see it, it's up to the parents, but if I ever had to make the choice myself, I'm fairly adamant that I wouldn't give consent to terminate a pregnancy.

Can you preview it?  XP's image preview resizes it to fit the screen, you could do that then grab a screen dump?

Ballmer's still about?  I thought they released him back into the wild ages ago?

Trying is 90% of the battle.  The other 10% can be purchased for a nominal fee.

Probably not a virus, more a mallicious keyboard remapping script.  Could be running at startup, or it might have altered your registry.

Think about what you've downloaded around the time it started happening and consider reverting to a system restore point from before the problem.

Apart from that, the most obvious advice would be not to press shift.  Use the on-screen keyboard or character map.

(Oh, and THIS IS NOT A TECH SUPPORT FORUM!! - but I'll offer some advice this once.)
