I don't really drink, but I grew up in bars.  I've picked up what'll get you smashed fast, and what wont. x_x

Like a barstool falling over when a toddler attempts to climb on it? Or big fat drunk woman who was dancing, then spins to fast, trips, and falls...pinning the same child under an enormous, sagging, sweaty boob?

Those would get you smashed FAST. It'd be like an Elvis death, you really don't want anything printed in the local paper.

I drink wine, Merlot mostly...I'm not going for class either...if it comes in a box and it's on sale...AWESOME!

In England and Gibralter they had REAL hard ciders and I can't find them in the US and I'm going through withdrawls. I need to locate one of thoses: Scrumpy Jacks, Blackthorn, or Strongbow. Any leads?

AOL? ick...

I don't know where you live but I've got COX (no perv jokes)
They give me cable tv, cable net, and digital phone service for pretty cheap. I like them...even though thier tech guys are retards when it comes to anything but windows OSs....and even then...this one guy didn't know what host name lookup is.

They rarely ever have glitches...I can always get on the internet.

The Mobile Chernobyle? They're next to us. Man that thing is brown with rust. I feel sorry for the deck seamen on that ship. Still...it's really impressive. I've heard it's almost impossible to sleep well on those things because of the catapult.

if FC=fire_controman
    then TRUE

I'm on DDG 81...the Winston S. Churchill...
we hang out in England alot. Our captain is female, in fact the first female in command of a ship to see 'combat' action.  Hitting a little button and turning some keys doesn't seem like combat to me, but what ever. She is crazy...we call her the Nimbus 2000

I think the navy is a giant net that catches the usless geeks and makes them work....but that's my view...and this the opinions area.

I use mandrake 9, which so far has blown me away. Yes, mandrake is the plush distro...but it is still linux, and you still have a terminal and a kernel which is essentialy the Red Hat kernel.

I don't think of linux at 'leet'. If anything, since it's free (which is why I started using it) it's like a wellfare OS. And it's not that easy to start out on, no matter what distro. This will pop up that will require alot of googling and asking around. The first days I had linux I had to learn alot of crap to get my modem to work....but once I figured out 'set serial'...and I heard that annoying modem noise...life was grand.

Until it came time to get my scanner running....

I'm in the Navy...

There are alot of thing's that suck about the US. I was chilling on a ship near turkey while t-hawks were being launched. I saw several launches. I didn't stop to think about what was going to be around when those things found their targets until after the salvo finished. Often, the targets were in very populated areas. Cities with families. We didn't put those targets there, we destroyed them, but we didn't build them.

I agree that the US needs to help itself before trying to liberate others. Yes, the treatment of women is horrible there. But...they have lived that way since before we were a nation. Not our fault. They know their rules.

However...we are a somewhat free country. I can't honestly say how we would be viewed if we were to let everyone else destroy themselves, torment their people, and not strive for a better world. It's a big sick circle. The US sucks because we're doing something...showing foward force. The US sucks because were sitting by letting shit happen that's BAD.

Alot of the people in the US are lazy, self-center, poopy heads. There are alot of gov programs out there to help them. Alot of them don't try.

Ok, I'm rambling...here's an abstract thought to sum this crap I've written up....

In order to evolve and become stronger, a species (america) must stay on a thin line between stagnation and self-destruction.

hack away at my comments....I gotta potty

Ok, I've seen alot of Detta pics. Detta, you have a very distinct ethnic thing going, but it's not obvious enough for me to guess where your bloodlines hail from. It's almost an egytian Nefertiti thing. Ummm, so like, where are you from?

Ok, I HATE frames. I try to avoid using them at all times.

What I want to do is this:

I have seen a few sites out there that are stunning. www.giger.com is one of those sites. I want to have the cool 'image as a menu border' look. Any ideas on how this is done? Style sheets, tables, or *gasp* frames?

mongo confoozed....ugh!

Ok, I should probably post this on some other forum...but here goes....

I'm running 'drake 9.0. I want to alter attributes for port 0x60 (keyboard). I am doing this on my box alone. I want to redirect (split?) the i/o from this port to a log file. I then want to translate the output using the english key-map. Has anyone attempted this or done anything remotely similar? Yes, I have googled. I always google first.

I am in no way attacking a remote system...you'll have to trust me that I am one of the most passive users out there. I am hacking my own box. This is just another level of knowledge I can file away in my mind. Little projects like this always haunt me, being bull-headed doesn't help.

9.0...and damn I love it. It's more verbose than 8 so even though I may not be typing things in through a terminal...the kernel will show me what it is doing. If there's a problem installing RPMs or whatever, it's alot easier to troubleshoot. It's alot more hardware happy too. Very 'plug-n-play'.

Gimp is faaaaar better than Photoshop. For one...it's free. Two, it works smoothly. Three...there's a hell of alot more plug-ins, tutorials, and groups that are easy to use/get. No subscriptions to anything. The WinGimp thing I will admit sucks so I hope you have linux.

Don't just look at gimp though. There are alot of little programs out there built to do specific stuff like render black and white shapes into texture mapped, 3D objects. Oh yeah, don't forget to look at style sheets either.
