Holiday plans?
« on: December 15, 2005, 07:54:19 PM »

Any traditions you or your family partake in every year? Something new you've started? Just the usual pack of relatives crammed into one domicile?

As for me, the BF and I are going to the Dells with a group of friends for some indoor waterparking, then to his parents', followed by a potluck dinner with another group of friends. We've decided to make a nice dinner for just us on Dec. 25. We're visiting my parents this weekend (my family doesn't really "do" holidays anymore).

I'm doing the usual.

RAGING IN NEW YORK WITH MY FAMILY!!!  Wehooo!  God bless us, everyone!

I'm coming back here for new years though.  We're just gonna go to a friend's and hang out.  My dad and sister might be coming down for it since my installation banquet is the 2nd.

Just the usual gathering at our house for the 25th.  Then I think the wife has a New Years party planned.  Where else would this be?  Here again of course.  Although it has been a long time since we had a New Years party.

Detta what are you getting installed into?

Well, I spend christmas eve with my mom's family and i hate most of them, so it`s not something i enjoy but at least that's the night i get more gifts so it's just a price i have to pay (it's not that i'm materialistic, well, may be just a little bit, but the thing is that since i'm not religious that's the only special thing about christmas: presents)

The 25th though is great, that's cause i spend it with my dad's family and i get along really well with all of them. We go to my cousin's pool (remember it's summer here), eat some burgers and just have a good time (there are also presents which are definetly a plus ;))

I may\may not be in Las Vegas to visit family up there. Depends on if everybody is up for the trip. If not, I'll be spending my holiday break visiting the parental units locally, then making the haul up to Nevada to be with my brother, his wife and my new niece.

I still need to do my shopping.

Pics please!

No big plans here. We canadian frenchies normally gather with family on christmas eve and spend the whole night up. It's great! We eat, feast, open gifts, play music, and the whole shabang. That's a difference in culture compared to our english speaking canadian friends who normally do their thing on christmas morning and christams day. We sleep in!

But this year, I've decided to spend the 24th home with just a few relatives that are in the area. I'm still going to stay up late, but not too late as I plan to travel on the 25th to visit my parents. I come back home on the 26th. I'm working between Christmas and new years. I haven't decided what the plan is for new years eve. I was invited to dine out with some friends, and then gather at someon'es house for the evening. But I may just end up spending more time with relatives. I'll be wearing green socks.

We have the big italian gathering for dinner on Xmas Eve.  Over my grandmothers of course.  Then just a lunch on Xmas day and hanging out with family.  Heading up to the in-laws for New Year's Eve to see that side of the family.

I thought about that later.  Congrats by the way, if I didn't tell you before.

But being president you can always turn it into the knotty Richomond chapter.

Back when I was at home I would do the whole family thing. But ever since I joined the Army I have spent most chirstmasses pretty much alone or at work. If im not at work I open my chirstmas present to myself of a bottle of vodka and get wasted. Its sad I know, but it works. This year it will be just another day at the radar site.

Ba-humbug.

My little self is spending the Xmas wit my family... only the 5 of us, cause spendin' every xmas on belgium (where most of my family is) gets reeeeeally expensive. For certain that I'll be pullin' every last string of my hair till the moment of opening presents, the most exciting moment of all. Bah... wat a miserable life

Over my month long break from college, I'll be working enough hours to pay off that college education, as well as spending some of it performing much needed maintenance around here, and other sites as well. Hopefully this month I'll get a grip on the bandwidth problems that have been following me around like athlete's foot for the past two months.
