Battle for Wesnoth
« on: April 23, 2007, 05:22:06 PM »

I spent several hours playing this game yesterday.

It's kind of like a cross between Warcraft 2 and Civilization (in that it's a strategy game with different units to move around like Warcraft, but it's turn-based like Civilization) and the several hours I spent playing it so far were very engrossing.

If you like either of the games I compare it to, you'd probably like this one.  Plus, it's a free download and works cross platform.  I downloaded the development version and compiled from source on my Slackware Linux box yesterday, but there appears to be binaries for Windows and Mac OS as well.

Full description of the game here.

Looks interesting. I'd say its a combination of Ogre Battle and Heroes of Might and Magic. I loved both those games. I'll check it out when I have time.

Why?
Because, if I do, that's all I will do.  The last game that I played on a PC was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.  I can't walk away from them.  So, I just don't play them.
