Help needed... again
« on: February 21, 2005, 08:45:14 PM »

I ask a lot, I know.

But I've been trying to make just enough money off my site to pay for a dedicated server. I can't see spending $60+ on something with no returns, ya know?

So my idea was to sell ad space in my sites newsletter. Initially I was given some resources for newsletters that looked a lot more professional than my current one, but for a fee (generally $30-150). Again, I don't want to spend more money than I am making.

Then I realized I could simply alter my current newsletter to look like this one and still use all the features I currently have on the site but for free! But ‘simply’ was not the case. I looked at the two different codes and suddenly went retarded.

My newsletter uses css and the code I stole from the trial newsletter has no css involved. My newsletter pulls information from my site, like current stories and custom html as well. I have no idea what I'm doing here and could really use some help.

I have attached the image of what I would like the newsletter to look like, the source code from the trial newsletter, and the tpl file of my current newsletter. It may all be in vain, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing the reason you went retarded while looking at it is all the friggin' redundant code. Holy crap.

I'm cleaning up the code for you, and filling in the blanks as best I can with what you provided.

I've been trying to get over to DD to look at the hopping bunnies in the nekkid section, but DD appears to be down. Is it? Or is it something on my end?

Its almost perfect!

It's putting the old newsletter layout inside the new layout above to new layout story sections. Does that make sense? In other words its combining the newsletters instead of making the new one predominent.

EDIT: Ok, I just deleted the bottom parts with the articles switching from the right to the left side. I'm not sure if that could be part of the format anyway and it still looks fine with the rest of the new html in place. I thank you very much cat! Hopefully advertisers will fine the new look appealing and pay to out their ads in there!

I figured it would.

I noticed you use <!--News--> includes. You may have to switch to <a name="storyID"> instead.
