Hello everyone
« on: August 27, 2007, 10:05:41 AM »

Hi everyone, how are we all doing?
so this is my introduction into geek society. Always been a geek, well geek/nerd/dork hybrid, but never had a home, so maybe this could be mine. A little about myself, 18, dude, I live with my beautiful fiance. I sell suits for a living. My hobby right now is paying off bills :) but as soon as those are paid off I'm starting a new crazy. Everyone knows how people love rebuilding old cars and showing them off. Well a new hobby I"m getting into is collecting and rebuilding or refurbishing old computers. Both Macs and PC's. I eventually want a complete line of computers starting with windows 1.0 and Mac 128K. I say if car guys have classic cars, Why cant Computer guys(I don't mean males I mean guys as in a group of people) have classic computers. Take an old computer system, and give it style buy putting it in an up to date case, with neon lights but running windows 3.0 :):) oh and yes I talk alot, and half the time I just ramble.

Hi and welcome. Pimpin' up PCs... never given that any thought. The only difference with restoring PCs and restoring old cars is that today's road can still accomodate the old cars. The opposite doesn't quit work out for PCs. But you have to do what you like right?

Perhaps you'll find this website to be of interest

Well yes that is true, but still. also another thought is take a top of the line computer, an intel quad system and put it in a old mac plus case. People come over, hey what is that over their (snicker, snicker) then you pull out Doom 3 with graphics all the way up, and BAM they just got owned on a new level.

Welcome new person, with a name too long to type or copy and paste at the moment.

Windows and Mac?  Pfffft.  Find you an old Timex Sinclair, that's what I started with.  Modding it may be a problem though.  Moved up to the C-64 after that.

Redwings?  Are they still popular, or do you live in Detroit?

I want a computer with a case made out of what appears to be a stuffed cat. Then we'll see who's snickering.

Welcome.

Final Fantasy/Star Wars mix, y'say? How did you manage to convince her of that? Will there be costumes involved?

Well we are going to have final fantasy music, the best men will be jedis, the brides maids will be various characters from final fantasy, I will be Cecil from final fantasy 4 (I love that guy), she is going to either be Marie from four or princess laya. The guests will be able to pick chracters from either final fantasy or star wars. so yeah it will be the best wedding ever.

You should have a big screen behind Yoda, and when he asks if you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, an options menu should come up:

> Marry
Attack
Flee

Now that looks painful, and if that's how you get wings then I feel sorry for you. Personally, I'll stick with my Red Bull. :-)
